2 IN 1 SHELTER FOR YOUR VEHICLE
SheltaPod is unique as it can be configured as a simple sun canopy and a half dome tent. This concertina effect can be done easy in three stages so the user can decide on how much cover they want. It only takes a moment to roll up the fabric and fix in place with hooks. There are extra guy lines to hold it in place. For further information see our Set Up Guide and Set Up Video.
The inner tent has an integrated bath-tub style groundsheet, two doors, one mesh and the other fabric. Both have central zips and tiebacks. It has two mesh window panels with curtains, one on the top for a view of the stars and the other at the back. This can provide better ventilation in hot climates. It also gives campers a view out when the rainfly is rolled up - the perfect place to sit if there are lots of insects around!
If you sleep inside your vehicle, the front door panel and groundsheet will keep belongings dry and out of sight.
SheltaPod can attach to any vehicle up to a height of 2.8m using five different attachment methods.
1. For campervans with multi rails there is the C channel beading strip
2. For vans with a gutter rail you can use the pole sleeve method.
3. Three velcro straps to attach to roof bars or racks.
4. Four webbing straps (each 5m long) are included for 'over the top' attachment for any vehicle.
5. There are three gaps in the pole sleeve for attaching suction clamps.
Please note that we DO NOT INCLUDE the attachment equipment, for example the pole for the pole sleeve, 'figure of eight' for C channel and suction clamps. See 'Where Can I Buy Additional Attachment Equipment?' on our FAQ page for further information.
WHEN YOU WANT TO DRIVE AWAY FOR THE DAY
SheltaPod can also be used as a drive-away awning so if you want to drive away for the day, simply detach the SheltaPod and mark out the place of your tyres so you can reposition your vehicle and reattach on your return.
The new 2020 SheltaPod has a zip down door which makes the pod more aerodynamic and offers added protection from the elements.
